WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

Marcie - Google

Dave was extremely professional and put me at ease quickly. He quickly diagnosed a tightness issue with my hip and gave treatment and acupuncture to the area. Two sessions later things are much improved, and I will return to him for any future issues.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS ASK

At Synergy Massage Therapy Clinic, we understand that you may have questions about our services.

Here are some answers to the most common questions we receive. If you don't find the answer you're looking for, feel free to contact us directly. We're always here to help!

  • I’m not sporty, but can I still have a sports massage?
Absolutely! While the term "sports massage" might conjure images of elite athletes, it's a misconception. Whether you're a gym enthusiast, a desk warrior, a supermom, or just someone looking for top-notch treatment, you deserve the same quality care. So, whether it's a sports massage, remedial massage, or a perfect blend of both, you're in for a treatment tailored just for you!
  • What conditions do Sports & Remedial Massage Therapists treat?
Our massage therapy is suitable for a range of conditions, including but not limited to: Muscular pain Back, neck, and shoulder pain Stiff neck Sore shoulders Hip and knee pain Painful disorders of joints and muscles Stress Headaches Sciatica Sports injuries Tendonitis Frozen shoulder Accidental injuries (e.g., whiplash) Pain from chronic illness and disability Arthritic pain Rheumatism *For your peace of mind, if you have any health condition raising doubts about whether massage is suitable for you, we recommend consulting with your doctor before booking an appointment. Your well-being is our top priority.
  • Are men better than women at sports massage?
Regardless of gender, proficiency in sports massage boils down to having the right training. Both male and female therapists, when trained appropriately, can adeptly use body weight to apply the correct pressure. It's not about gender; it's about skill and expertise. Rest assured, you're in capable hands with our qualified therapists.
  • What do I wear for a sports massage?
For optimal treatment, it's recommended to wear clothing that can be easily removed or repositioned, allowing the therapist access to the necessary body parts. While many clients opt for undergarments, rest assured that modesty is always maintained through the use of towels to cover the body. These towels are only removed when accessing the specific area being treated. To facilitate easy access, female clients are encouraged to wear a back-fastening bra, ensuring accessibility to the upper back and shoulders. Sports bras can be a bit cumbersome in this context. Similarly, long or tight shorts may be restrictive, hindering access to the hamstrings and adductor attachments. Your comfort is paramount, whether you choose to be suitably undressed or prefer to remain fully clothed. We prioritise an environment where you feel at ease throughout your session.
  • Does Sports Massage hurt?
Occasionally, sports massage may induce a mild level of discomfort, always characterized as a 'good' pain—an indicator of its positive impact. Your comfort is paramount, and you're in control throughout the session. Should you ever feel uneasy, please don't hesitate to express it, and we'll adjust our approach accordingly. Communication is key, and we encourage you to vocalise if you prefer a lighter touch. It's not uncommon to experience post-massage soreness, especially after a deep tissue session. Following the treatment, consider applying ice to any warm areas treated for brief intervals (10 minutes each). Additionally, a few days later, you might find relief by warming the area with a hot bath or hot water bottle, ensuring there's no inflammation present. Staying hydrated, incorporating gentle but progressive stretching, and communicating any concerns about soreness or upcoming events are always welcomed—we're here to tailor the experience to your needs.
  • I am allergic to many massage oils, can I bring my own?
Absolutely, you're welcome to bring your own massage oil. It's worth mentioning that we primarily use Songbird Massage Wax**, known for its high oil content and exceptional absorption properties, ensuring optimal skin contact. This wax features a neutral fragrance and doesn't stain clothing. **It's essential to note that Songbird Massage Wax contains Almond nut oil. If you have a nut allergy, kindly inform us, and we'll use an 'Aqueous Cream' as an alternative. Your comfort and well-being are our top priorities.
